The Red and Black Series

Gallery

The records located in the Red and Black Series represent an enormous resource, both in terms of the breadth of their content and in the depth of detail represented. The records contained in these series affected almost all aspects of Aboriginal people's lives. The 13 selected documents that have been digitized in colour for this Web exhibition convey the diverse range of subjects found in these series. They include both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal voices through correspondence and memorandums, files containing photographs, an artist's sketchbook, diary records, and news clippings.
